Digital Asset Management Information For Photographers

Pixlpro provides photographers a web portal for digital asset management. It can be the online database that allows digital photos to flow from the photographer to the end user.

As those photos move through the workflow, it is important to keep information about the photos bound together with the photos themselves. Caption information, copyright notice and photographer's name, are examples of this information. The information is embedded with the digital photo as metadata.

IPTC is a standard for organizing photo metadata. (In Photoshop, it is called File Info.) Pixlpro accepts and passes on this metadata. It also allows you to add and edit the IPTC information of photo files in the Pixlpro database.

Most Adobe image editing software, including Photoshop, have the metadata authoring tools built in. Their term for this capability is Adobe Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP).
